Jigger
Every equal-parts drink here is unforgiving by design. A Paper Plane is four ingredients at the same measure with nothing to hide behind: miss one by a quarter ounce and the drink tips immediately — too bitter, too sweet, or too sour, and obviously so. The jigger is not a training wheel you graduate from. It is the instrument that makes the specification mean something.
Free-pouring is a real skill, built on thousands of repetitions behind a bar — and bartenders who have it still check themselves against a jigger. At home there is nothing to check against.
